Train
Train transportation is available at your expense. 🚂 It is the best and easiest way to get around. Traveling by train offers beautiful views of the Italian countryside, especially when passing through mountainous regions. Step-by-Step Travel Guide 1. Train from Fiumicino Airport to Orte Take a regional train from Fiumicino Aeroporto station—these are frequent and run roughly every 15 minutes via the FL1 line Tickets start from approximately $13.34 USD (when booked in advance) The journey takes between 1 hour 24 minutes and 1 hour 56 minutes, with 35 trains per day 2. Bus or Taxi from Orte Station to Macchie (Macchie near Amelia) After arriving at Orte Station, you’ll need to arrange your own transport to Macchie. Options include: Taxi: Quickest and most convenient—ideal if you're traveling with luggage. Local bus: If available, this would be more economical but less frequent and may require advance planning. 3. Arrival at La Tenuta del Gallo from Macchie, it’s a short local drive to Via Ortacci. You will still need to arrange a bus or taxi from the Orte train station to the venue in Amelia. Alternative Option: Train via Terni (Then Taxi/Bus to Macchie) You can alternatively take a train from Fiumicino to Terni, typically via Termini. Travel time ranges from 1 h 46 m to 2 h 14 m, with 24 trains daily, starting from around $20. From Terni, you’d still need to take a taxi or arrange a bus to reach Macchie. You can purchase tickets through their website at www.trenitalia.com Tickets prices $12-$14 Below is a video that will help you navigate the train system. https://youtu.be/LuitZmoUUv0?si=FQhywdRHcI9xfmuS
