We met in Spanish class sophomore year of high school. Our friendships grew over the two years we had Spanish class together. In junior year, we spent time together with our classmates while playing as husband and wife for their class play "Bodas de Sangre". Since then, we became good friends. After high school graduation, we tend to send each other friendly greetings during special occasions like birthdays and holidays. We knew we did not want to lose contact even after going out separate ways in 2009.

It wasn't until the end of 2017 that we decided to reconnect in person. We went to see a few movies here and there, but some months passed by until we met again. We went on a "friend date" to Universal's Horror Nights October of 2018. He took me to the clown maze (I doesn't like clowns) so I hid under his arm. After finishing the maze, we didn't let each other go. He kept his arm around me and I rested my head on his shoulder on the tram ride. That's when we both knew. After continued dinner and movie dates, he asked me "Would you sit me back down if I tried jumping out of the friendzone?" Jenny and Juan made friendzone history when we became boyfriend and girlfriend on January 27th of 2019.

It was the week of our second year anniversary. Juan dedicated a lot of time and effort in finding the perfect ring and planning the proposal. He surprised me with a trip to Las Vegas. On our way there we saw snow fall on their way to Nevada and I did not suspect what he was planning on doing that night. He did the setup for the proposal all by himself at Cesar's Palace. Once I figured out what was about to happen, I starting shedding joyful tears and hugged Juan who also got emotional. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes! After proposing, Juan took me to the gondola ride at the Venetian. After him proposing, it felt like I was dreaming throughout the whole night (and the next 3 days after). We can't wait to celebrate with our families and loved ones! See you in June! xo
