COVID-19 Wedding Update

The below was sent via email to guests between 5/11 and 5/16.

Dear family and friends, We know this has been an unprecedented spring for everyone, and we hope that you all are safe and healthy. Due to COVID-19, we have spent many hours debating how to proceed with our wedding. We have considered many options and have made the decision to move forward with our June 20th ceremony and reception. Below are some of the things we considered and plan to put in place for the safety of our guests. First of all, we know many of you will make the decision to not attend due to COVID-19, and we completely understand. Whether you are an essential employee, need to travel from afar, or uncomfortable attending a gathering at this time, we will be sad to not see you. However, we know that everyone has to make a decision that is best for them and their family, and we support you no matter your choice. Tyrell and Jennie strongly support, trust, and believe in good science. We do not think that COVID-19 is something to ignore or take lightly. We plan to make our wedding as safe as possible with CDC and local government guidelines in mind. We know many of you have told us to just do what's best for us in this time and we want to let you in on our decision making process. When we began planning our wedding almost two years ago, we decided to plan a big party because our priority in this celebration was joining together with our families and friends to celebrate those who have supported us so far, and those who will continue to support us in our marriage. In honor of our guests being a top priority, here are some need-to-knows for you! 1) We considered an alternative date with our venue in the fall, but looking at historical data and current projections, there isn't any indication that the alternative date we considered would be less risky for viral transmission. 2) Our ceremony and reception are both outdoors, and research indicates that this lowers transmission rates. ---Scroll to continue---

Update continued

3) Our wedding is a private event and has a controlled guest list. 4) We plan to set up a live stream of our ceremony for those who are unable to join us. 5) We ask that anyone who has knowingly been exposed to COVID-19, or is showing any symptoms within the two weeks leading up to 6/20, not attend our wedding. We have brainstormed with our wedding planner and families on precautions we can take to limit the possibility of viral transmission. These will include: - Distanced seating and one direction foot traffic flow at the ceremony. - Fewer guests per table and tables further apart at the reception. - Something to indicate to guests around you that you do not wish to come within six feet of anyone (possibly a color coded sticker, or pin) - Limited number of guests allowed on the dance floor, mandatory masks on the dance floor. - Strongly recommended masks throughout the event. - Hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue. - Provided disposable masks for anyone who does not bring their own, and to allow for changing masks as necessary. - We strongly recommend that all guests refrain from any sort of physical contact with other guests who you are not living with. - No self-served food or drinks, only sanitation trained vendors will serve food and drinks. We fully anticipate a smaller guest list, and support your individual decisions to attend our wedding or not. If you choose to attend, we ask that you follow the above and any additional requests we make in the interest of the health and safety of our guests. Regardless of your decision, please fill out this RSVP FORM by May 22nd. Copy and paste this link into a web browser: forms.gle/ByEqHvQnC48WHhWT7 We love and miss all of you, and hope to see you either at our wedding, or when the status of public health allows. We will let you know if our circumstances change. With love and respect, Jennie and Tyrell
