Our story began in the summer of our first year of university when we both joined the same internship program in Taiwan. What started as fun hangouts and late-night talks slowly turned into something more. By the end of those two months, we knew we didn’t want to say goodbye—but with him heading back to the U.S. and me returning to Canada, long distance became our reality. For the next eight years, we made it work through endless video calls, airport goodbyes, and way too many short visits during school breaks. Somehow, through it all, our love only grew stronger. Two Taiwanese who met in Taiwan, fell in love, and finally decided it was time to close the distance and start our forever—together.
