Jennie and Levy met at an LDS Singles conference in Freiberg Germany in April. Jennie first noticed Levy because he played the piano for the hymns, and Levy noticed Jennie as she was conducting the choir. In Jennie's words: "I noticed I didn't have to play the piano for the conference at the first meeting- whew! They had recruited someone else! I didn’t know it then, but this would only be the first time Levy would lighten my load and lift me up.” In Levy's words: "The first time I saw her, she entered in this big room to have a rehearsal with some people and for a second I thought, 'Look at this beautiful woman, who is that?' And then she was sturdily walking and shouting orders to everyone. My second thought was, 'Obnoxious is what she is. And full of herself'. In the end, after some introspection, I thought I had a moral duty to support the choir." In our words: "YEAH RIGHT, LEVY!" In Levy's words: "After rehearsal I introduced myself, we began to talk, and haven't stopped talking since." They sat by each other at a meeting that night, and Levy followed Jennie on the sponsored day trip to Görlitz the next day. They held hands the first time that weekend.
In Jennie's words: "In my family no one is really engaged until you have a ring and a date. This hails back to our annual Lake Powell houseboat trips in the summer. There were always people wanting to bring their boy/girlfriends on the trip, but there is never enough space! So the rule was instituted: there must be a ring and a date to bring a plus one to Powell." With that, they followed the Powell rules. They set a date. And on the night of September 28th in Berlin Germany, they were up late talking about Jennie's late mother, Larainne Cory. It was her birthday. In Jennie's words:"As we sat together talking about and remembering her, he suddenly started sharing all the things he loved about me and why he wanted that in his life— forever." In Levy's words: "I had this moment when I looked at her, and she was so beautiful. I'm the kind of person that shares what I think. I began enumerating the things I love in her. The list is quite big. After some time, I felt it was the moment. I had been thinking about it for a while, but on this day it happened naturally. I asked and she said ‘yes’." In Jennie's words: "Levy gave me a reason to not feel sad on my mother's birthday this year."
Following the February wedding in Las Vegas, USA, Levy and Jennie will make their home in Germany 🇩🇪 (Please keep in mind, we cannot take any physical gifts home with us.)
