Question

What is the weather like in Telluride?

Answer

Telluride is beautiful in September with mild sunny days and cooler evenings. The average high is 66 degrees with the average low at 37 degrees. The nights can get chilly and we will be outside for portions of the weekend, so a light jacket or wrap would be advisable.

Question

How do I thrive at such a high altitude?

Answer

This is a very important thing to be aware of. The town of Telluride is situated at 8,750 feet. Mountain Village is even higher with accommodations between 9,400-10,000 feet. This means there is 30% less oxygen in the air in Telluride than at sea level. We recommend staying hydrated. Even before you leave home, be sure to drink lots of water and electrolytes! Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) should also help. Please call the Telluride Medical Center, (970) 728-3848 if you are worried about your symptoms. It is important to not ignore any of these symptoms. Question

What is the difference between Telluride Town and Mountain Village?

Answer

Telluride Town sits at the end of a box canyon and is the more populated area full of bars, restaurants and activities. It conjures the genuine historic feel of an old mining town. Mountain Village sits atop Town accessible by car or complimentary gondola rides from Town and is the newer area of Telluride with plentiful accommodations and a premium golf course. The Telluride /Mountain Village Gondola runs daily from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. The Ceremony and reception will be in Mountain Village. We recommend staying at The Peaks in the village or near by, as that where be where our shuttles for the night will pick up and drop off!
