Blaine County (where Ketchum is located) has enacted a face mask mandate for indoor public places. The city of Ketchum has also included face mask recommendations for outdoor spaces where social distancing is not possible (you can read the mandate here: https://www.ketchumidaho.org/sites/default/files/fileattachments/ordinance/47102/819656.pdf) Blaine County was one of the hardest hit areas when COVID first started spreading. And while a large majority of their residents are vaccinated, they have had many issues with non-residents testing positive and spreading the virus in the community. Out of respect of the community and residents, please take all the necessary precautions, so that we can celebrate with limited risk to everyone. Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has also activated Crisis Standards of Care across the state of Idaho. This means that not all healthcare services will be available in the state of Idaho. Please keep this in mind.
In order to keep all of our guests and the local community healthy, we are asking all of our guests who are attending and vendors who are involved in the weekend be fully vaccinated. If vaccination is not an option for you, please consider a COVID test 48-72 hours prior to the event. Some guests in attendance and/or families of guests are at higher risk for more serious complications of the virus. We ask that everyone be respectful of each other's situation and take necessary precautions while traveling to the wedding and at all of the events of the weekend. We will have masks available. Regardless of vaccination status, please wear a mask if indoors and/or if interacting with or in the close proximity to anyone else who is wearing a mask If you do not feel comfortable at any of the events, we sincerely apologize and hope that you will feel comfortable letting us or someone else know if we can do anything to ease your concerns or help you find a more comfortable situation.
If you are ill or have a known exposure to COVID 19 (unmaksed, within 6 feet, for > 15 minutes with someone known to have tested positive), please stay home. We will miss celebrating with you, and will know that you are still celebrating and supporting us regardless.
Fall weather in Idaho is typically BEAUTIFUL, however, this time of year can be a little unpredictable. We will be in the mountains, so expect slightly colder weather. Typically highs are in the 60s and it cools down 20-30 degrees at night when the sun sets.
All of the events planned will primarily be outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, for the ceremony we will either try to wait it out and shift timelines slightly or we will hold the ceremony at the house where we are staying (see the Welcome Party for address). We will have a tent at the reception as well for any needed cover.
Ketchum and Sun Valley have a great free public bus system (Mountain Rides) for getting around...you can see the schedule and routes here: https://www.mountainrides.org/bus-routes-schedules-overview/ The schedule does change somewhat after September 6, but service is still provided Some hotels will also provide shuttle services if you are staying at these locations.
