Centrally located between four major cities, Antequera provides access to plenty of things to do and places to explore.
Here are some of our recommendations of things to do during your visit (when you are not celebrating with us, of course!).
Alcazaba
s/n Plaza de los Escribanos, Antequera, AN 29200, Spain
It can be a little tricky to find the road leading up to the Alcazaba. It is a very small and odd turn that we missed more than once when we visited. We recommend taking a rideshare or walking from town.
Royal Collegiate Church of St. Mary (Real Colegiata de Santa Maria la Mayor)
2 Calle San Salvador, Antequera, AN 29200, Spain, +34 952 70 81 42
El Torcal de Antequera
Calle el Torcal de Antequera, AN 29200, Spain
Be sure to check out this stunning nature reserve with the most unique rock formations and amazing views! Enjoy an early morning or evening hike (when it's not too hot!).
Peña de los Enamorados
Antequera, AN 29200, Spain
This is perhaps the most iconic landmarks in Antequera. Learn more about its legend and why it is called, "Lovers' Rock," here: https://www.thecultureclique.com/the-lovers-rock-antequera/
Dolmen de Menga
Km. 5 Carretera de Málaga, Antequera, AN 29200, Spain, +34 952 71 22 07
Please note, it is a long and steep walk from the Alcazaba to the top of the Castillo. You can also take bus #35 from Avenida de Cervantes. We promise the views are worth it! You can buy a combined ticket for both the Alcazaba and the Castillo for €5.50 per person (or free on Sundays after 2pm).
Museo Casa Natal de Picasso
15 Plaza de la Merced, Málaga, AN 29012, Spain, +34 951 92 60 60
Jardín Botánico Histórico - La Concepción
3 Camino del Jardín Botánico, Málaga, AN 29014, Spain, +34 951 92 61 80
