J: We sat outside overlooking the marina at a restaurant called Salt. I remember being so impressed about all the places photography had taken you...you had traveled all over the world. We had a lot of things in common right away: our love for adventure/travel, art, importance of our family. Plus you ordered a Mezcal Old Fashioned... ;) P: I remember you wore a long grey sweater. We were supposed to grab sushi at Sugar Fish but there was a long wait, so we went to SALT at the Marina Del Rey Hotel. We split some apps and I ordered a Mezcal Old Fashioned.

J: I know this is crazy, but it was within in the first month of dating. Every time we were together it felt so comfortable and easy. We spent time just talking on my couch, hiking, playing tennis, drinking wine on the beach at sunset, exploring new restaurants. Whenever we were together I was happy. P: I felt it early. At the same time I was interviewing for the CSU job I was a finalist for a job at another university. For the first time in my life, I didn't put my career first because I wanted to see what would happen with us. We had a great connection and it was all so easy. I pulled my name and thankfully got the CSU job allowing me to stay in LA.

J: Our adventures and trips (that seem so happen a lot!) Plus our Sunday morning coffee & Farmer's Market, & making dinner together. P: Road trips or any kind of traveling.

J: Spending my life with you, more adventures together and starting a family. P: Continuing our lives together and starting a family of our own. As much as we've missed our traditions with our own families this year, it's been great to start some of our own.

J: You are always completely present and in the moment. I love that you are so passionate about anything that you are doing, whether it's changing a record on our record player, taking a photo, talking about our goals or just making dinner.... your excitement about everything is contagious. P: I've got three, can't even narrow it down to one. It's you spirit - always full of life and a positive outlook. You're so loving, it never waivers. Lastly, your support. You're so supportive and I'm truly lucky to have you in my corner.
