...Wherever it was, it began as a friendship between two surprisingly like-minded individuals who happened to be attending the same church at the same time. In the fall of 2017, the Trinity Church planted its core team including Jenn and one of Nick's roommates, Seth Jones. Seth first introduced us at a local BBQ joint. First impressions were fuzzy; Jenn remembers Nick's blunt lack of love for his job and Nick remembers Jenn's genuine friendliness. Both of us remember bowling was on TV...? We forgot about each other until the next summer. Seth finally succeeded in convincing Nick to attend Trinity, and he chose to later become a member. Jenn and Nick were both regular attendees at the Williams' small group. Many a Thursday night you would find our eventual lovers engaged in lengthy conversations; always the last to leave. DJ and Heather got to witness our friendship blossom firsthand as they graciously showed us to the door. The next April, Jenn returned from a spring break trip to Florida and asked Nick to pick her up from the airport in exchange for breakfast. This inaugural "date" would be the first of several sporadic outings, containing lots of coffee and conversation about our personalities, interests, families, and spiritual journeys. After a few months, Nick was determined to say something, whether it ended in us dating or continuing as just friends. Jenn was also determined to say something (but she wasn't as patient), so she gave Nick a call. Within an hour, we were sitting in a Waffle House parking lot talking about our relationship. Nick asked Jenn if she would go on a date with him the next day, and she said yes! We never did walk in that Waffle House... 387 days later, we were engaged. Through the ups and downs, we have learned to love each other the way Christ loves us. Nick appreciates Jenn's tender heart and passion for people, and Jenn admires Nick's listening ear and the way he serves others. We can't wait to celebrate our union on June 12th!
