Things To Do

4th of July Fireworks Celebration at Gas Works Park

4th of July Fireworks Celebration at Gas Works Park

2101 North Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103

While this venue is typically PACKED, it may be fun for a newcomer to Seattle. It is a whole-day celebration. The events at the park typically start around 3PM and feature beer gardens, bands, and food vendors. Fireworks show (over Lake Union) will begin at 10:20PM.

Golden Gardens Park

Golden Gardens Park

8498 Seaview Place Northwest, Seattle, WA 98117

The BEST sunset view in Seattle. A sandy beach area with volleyball, fire pits, and concession stand that overlook the pudges sound and Olympic mountain range.

Mount Rainier National Park

Mount Rainier National Park

WA

This National Park is a MUST SEE if you have never been (for hikers and couch-potatos alike!) This park is unique is that you don’t need to hike anywhere to see some of the best sites that it has to offer. If you are not a hiker and want an incredible drive, drive to the Sunrise Park entrance. From there, you can either bask in the views or embark on one of the many trailheads that begin there. A classic one we recommend is the 5.7 mile out-and-back Mount Fremont Lookout Trail (‘Moderate’ difficulty on AllTrails).

ROCCO'S

2312 2nd Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121

Our favorite pizza place in Seattle! They sell full pizza’s and pieces by the slice. Make sure you get their homemade ranch. This pizza place is also located in the Belltown neighborhood—make sure you check out some of the bars and barcades in the area!

Dumpling The Noodle Seattle

1723 North 45th Street, Seattle, WA 98103

VERY YUM. Highly recommend the ‘Chili the Beef (or Shrimp) Lamen’.

Sky View Observatory - Columbia Center

700 4th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104

The Sky View Observatory is in the tallest building in the city with sweeping views of the city with mountains in every direction. You have to buy tickets to get the observatory (about $25/person) but on a clear day with great visibility, there is nothing like it. If you have to choose between this and the space needle ($40/person), we recommend you choose this experience.
