We met at Sandalwood High School during marching band practice in 2011. Deven was a senior and I was a freshman when we met and we quickly became close friends. After Deven graduated high school, we both remained close while he was away at college and when he came back to Jacksonville. We began dating on January 16, 2018.
I went to get a facial in the town center to treat myself for the upcoming week that I had off from work. On my way to the spa, I noticed that our cameras had been disconnected. I called Deven to ask him to fix them. After the spa, I went to visit my parents. While visiting, I checked our inside camera to check on Pongo, who had surgery two days prior, and found that he managed to pull his surgical cone off and was investigating his sutures. I frantically called Deven to have him get the cone back on Pongo. After our call, I rushed home, just in case he needed to go to the vet. When I arrived home, Pongo was not in his crate. While searching for him in the house, I heard music coming from the back patio, specifically Buona Sera by Louis Prima. I walked outside and there I found Pongo running around a newly decorated patio and my fiancé on his knee with a ring box in his hand.
