For those that do not know, Brad is six years older than I am. I "met" him through my older sister Natasha. They used to work together, so I would see him when I would visit her at work. She used to tell me things like, "Brad thinks you're cute, a little young, but cute." I'm not sure she even remembers that, but I do. And I was young at the time, probably a senior in high school / freshman in college. One thing I learned about Brad after we started dating was that he never wanted to date anyone he couldn't legally have a drink in a bar with. So who would have thunk it that I ran into him at a bar when I met some friends out on my 21st birthday! (I was one of the rare few with a Friday 21st). The next day, Natasha hosted a birthday party for me to celebrate with family and friends, with a small after party at our house. It was then she asked, "Want me to invite Brad over?" I said, "Sure." We ended up talking all night, then almost every day, which led to our first date and making it "official" shortly after!

A lot of you were there for it! But if you weren't, you missed the Belated Birthday / 10 Year Anniversary / Kick-off to Summer Party turned ENGAGEMENT PARTY! And everyone knew but me! Yes, I truly was shocked when Brad asked me, "Can you come over here...?" and cued the music while I walked toward him and he pulled out a ring! It was truly amazing to share this moment surrounded by our loved ones! <3
