Our Proposal Story: Jake and I LOVE Formula 1 racing. Something about cars that go super fast is our jam! Formula 1 races happen all over the world - we've been to Miami, Austin, and Montreal but hope to venture to Europe someday :) "Own the Chequered Flag" is a program by Formula 1 where fans can have their names printed on a square of the chequered flag that is waved at the race of your choice. Jake bought the square in September, deciding to have the race be Austin, Texas. What did the square say? "Will You Marry Me" of course! On Sunday, October 20th, 2024, it was "lights out" as we watched the race from the couch. By a stroke of luck our favorite driver of all time (Charles Leclerc from Ferrari) WON! Jake couldn't tell me at the time, but that meant Leclerc's car crossing the finish line would be in the photo along with the piece of the flag when he proposed on November 30th, 2024. The most perfect, meaningful proposal that truly encompasses our relationship!
