This is the easiest and most reliable way to get onto the Naval Academy. Remember to have photo ID to get on and be prepared to pass through a metal detector. Once through a quick right hand turn will take you to the Armel Leftwich Visitors Center, though we recommend just going straight out the gate and taking a left up Porter Road. Here you can see the houses for the senior officers on the Yard, known colloquially as "Captains' Row". At the end of this road a right on Buchanan will take you to the center of the Yard. Here the Chapel will be on your left and Bancroft Hall on your right. Bancroft is where the Brigade of Midshipmen all live. You can go into the front doors of Bancroft Hall and see the impressive Rotunda or an example of a midshipman's room. If you decide to tour the Chapel instead make sure to head around the right outer side to see the Crypt of John Paul Jones, the United States' first naval hero.
It may not be a Big Beer Wednesday, but this place is a guaranteed hit. Amazing wings and a great house made Aviator Red Lager. You can't go wrong with McGarvey's for lunch, a quick drink, or late night wings and oysters.
Pusser's has become an Annapolis mainstay, through either their huge outdoor dock that runs along the Annapolis waterfront, their late night dance floor, or most likely, their (in)famous Pusser's Painkillers. A true Caribbean treat all the way up here in the Chesapeake Bay. The best part about Pusser's is that it is directly below where the wedding will be held. So as the festivities wrap up at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel, a built in afterparty is ready to go, just one floor below.
Do you need only the finest flavors of hand selected olive oil? Perhaps you need authentic Irish imports or the latest in sailing apparel? Maybe all you need is 19 different T-shirts with various sailing puns and about 3 lbs of fudge? Then Main Street is the place for you!
