The average highs fall in the high 70s/low 80s & average lows fall in the high 50s/low 60s in September. The welcome party and wedding will be outdoors, however, you will have access to indoor spaces at all events if needed.
Of course! We've added some options under "Things To Do" and highly recommend exploring the amazing places around Lake Maggiore! Italy is a beautiful and welcoming country; you can get almost anywhere within hours by their clean, high-speed train system. Yes! Italy is ranked #31 on the Global Peace Index, in comparison the US is ranked #131. In Italy, most crimes are sneaky pickpocketing so please be mindful of zipping your bags and keeping them in front of you at all times. We do not recommend keeping anything in your front or back pockets or placing cell phones on tables while out to eat. Pick-pocketers are very sneaky, however, they are not aggressive. Italy requires a valid passport with at least 3 months validity beyond your departure date (if you are leaving on September 8th, your passport must not expire before December 8th 2024).
Italians are generally very friendly. Keep in mind when visiting Holy Places like cathedrals, they do require your shoulders to be covered and your shorts/dresses to be at least knee-length. Also, everything runs on Italian Time - meaning, expect to spend at least 1.5 hours with anything you plan to do. They also take mid-day breaks starting around 2p until 5p. Usually, dinner begins no earlier than 6p.
