For the convenience of our beloved guests, we have compiled a series of suspected frequently asked questions and answers. Please review these individually!

Why did you choose TN & The Ivey House?

Answer

We chose to have the wedding in Tennessee, as it is a location close to our hearts where we visit family frequently. We chose The Ivey House due to its vintage, inviting feel, along with the beautiful ceremony and reception sites.

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Invitations were sent out with an indication of whether a guest is included. We would love to celebrate our special day with our closest friends & family, so there is a limited capacity guest list. Please reach out for further inquiries.

Where should I stay for the night before/after the wedding?

Answer

Our website has a block booked hotel option under ‘Travel & Lodging’. Otherwise, there are a variety of airbnbs, hotels, and more in the area.

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

The earlier, the better when it comes to RSVPs. Please feel free to take your time finalizing details for accommodations after the RSVP submission. The final date to RSVP will be July 15th

Are the ceremony and reception sites in different places?

Answer

No, the ceremony and reception will be held on the same property

Is parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes, parking is available on-site for free! There will be a parking attendant guiding guests to a parking lot a short walk away from the venue. Limited handicap parking is available near the farmhouse

What does transportation look like to arrive to the wedding?

Answer

Every guest is responsible for their transportation to wedding venue. We encourage guests who may be drinking to consider taking an Uber/other ride share service or having a designated driver

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Help us get the party started as scheduled! Due to the nature of parking and walking to the ceremony site, we encourage guests to arrive early. Please arrive to park between 3:30-3:40 PM at the latest. We will begin the ceremony sharply at 4 PM

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The dress code is cocktail attire. Women should wear dresses below the knee length, jumpsuits, or a dressy separate set. Men should wear a suit with a tie or a blazer with dress pants. We encourage all guests to go for more vibrant/colorful looks for the summertime!

Will the wedding be air conditioned?

Answer

The ceremony site (for a clear day) is planned to be outdoors, so there will not be air conditioning. The reception will be air conditioned

What is the wedding day itinerary?

Our wedding day will have a traditional ceremony, cocktail hour with food and alcoholic beverages available, a full dinner, desserts, and a reception with both dancing and activities

What is the best airport to use?

Answer

The closest airport to the wedding venue is the McGee Tyson Airport 12 miles from Knoxville, TN

Does the wedding have a particular theme?

Answer

The wedding will be an eclectic sunset theme. We encourage all guests to wear brighter, colorful outfits and fun patterns of all colors of the rainbow

What is the weather and climate usually like?

Answer

In August, Seymour, TN typically has seen dry season with a high of 86° and a low of 66°. We recommend that guests wear breathable fabric with layers that are able to be taken off if overheated

What type of food will be served at the wedding?

Answer

We will have a variety of buffet options with a Mexican/BBQ fusion that includes options of meat, vegetarian, and dairy-free toppings. In addition, we will have sides and an assortment of desserts available

Am I allowed to take photos during the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony will be unplugged, meaning we will have guests turn off their phones and cameras for the entirety of the ceremony only. After the ceremony, guests are welcome to use their phones and take photos! During cocktail hour and reception, we encourage guests to scan our QR code the day of the wedding to take photos and upload them to our group photo album. We will provide the QR code on the day of the wedding. We would love to get many photos with and of our guests to cherish these memories!

Is there anything I should bring as a guest?

Answer

We will provide fans and water to guests. We encourage guests to wear sunscreen and bring a pair of sunglasses for the outdoor ceremony. Women wearing heels may want to bring a change of shoes for dancing during the reception

Will I receive a mailed invitation?

Answer

We do plan to mail out invitations for those who would like them as a keepsake. Please indicate you would like one in the RSVP questions to ensure you are sent one accordingly

Will there be a photographer or videographer?

Answer

Yes, we will have both a photographer and videographer capturing moments the day of the wedding

May we post photos or videos of the wedding day?

Answer

Yes, all guests can post their photos and videos of the day on social media. We will have a hashtag we encourage guests to use the day of. Please wait to post any content from the wedding until after the conclusion of the event

Will guests have access to the photos/videos that are taken after the wedding day?

Answer

Our photographer has a turnaround time of 12-14 weeks for the entire wedding gallery. We plan to share the content we receive through an update and announcement on our website

Yes, professional photography is expected ~3-4 months after the wedding. Content taken on phones and digital cameras will be shared via a photo sharing app posted on the wedding day.
