Our story started all the way back in 2011 where we met as volunteer staff at Youthfront. Logan was a freshman, Jenna was a sophomore, and while Logan had a quiet crush from the start, we remained friends for several years and always enjoyed reconnecting at camp each summer. In 2017, things finally shifted after Logan asked Jenna on a date to the Nelson-Atkins Museum. After a few dates, we made things official that August when Logan nervously asked how Jenna "felt about labels," to which she replied, "are you trying to ask me to be your girlfriend?" Since then, we have experienced lots of laughs, learning, and adventure together. Some of our favorite adventures include trips to visit Logan’s sister, Megan, and brother-in-law, Darec, in San Diego, where we spent most of our time playing Pokémon Go and stuffing ourselves with Golden Donuts and Zia’s pizza. More recently we explored Seattle for Jenna’s birthday, walking Pike Place Market, sampling ginger beer, and wandering in and out of bookshops (if we haven’t told you the “Mariko Aoki phenomenon” story, ask us the next time we see you). But some of our favorite moments have been spent at home reading nerdy fantasy books, playing virtual Yahtzee, binge-watching Survivor, and making up voices for our dog, Collins. Over 7 years later, the proposal was a long time coming! We were on our way to a "Christmas pop-up bar with friends," when Logan pulled off a last-minute detour to Long View Lake. Years ago, we slow-danced there to "I'll Be Seeing You," inspired by a scene from The Notebook. Cheesy, we know! This time, the dock was lit with candles and set up with flowers. Logan got down on one knee, and after a lot of happy tears, Jenna said yes! We ended the night celebrating with friends and family at a surprise party planned by Logan. We are super excited for the chapter ahead. Logan recently graduated from CRNA school and accepted a job in Phoenix, Arizona, which is where we will call home for the next 2+ years! We’re looking forward to the sunshine, discovering new favorite places, and lots of hiking with Collins. We can’t wait to celebrate and hit the dance floor with all of you November 29!
