What started as a casual college tour with friends turned into the beginning of our forever. One of my friends wanted to tour the campus at Texas Tech University, so a group of us tagged along for the trip. While we were there, one of my best friends reached out to an old coworker who happened to go to school there, and he invited us back to the apartment he shared with his roommates. At the time, I was very single and jokingly asked if he had any cute single friends. His response was, "Well, I have an Asian roommate named Johnny," to which 1 quickly replied, "Oh no thanks." But the second we walked into that apartment, I spotted this incredibly handsome guy and immediately asked, "Wait... who's that?" Of course, it was Johnny — and very much not Asian. I was way too shy to actually talk to him that first trip, so we mostly kept our distance before I headed back home to Fort Worth. Soon after, my friend and her old coworker started dating which gave us plenty of reasons to keep visiting Texas Tech University. One night, we all went out for drinks, including Johnny, and after a little too much liquid courage, I finally worked up the nerve to kiss him. From that moment on, we've been inseparable.
