Hi everyone, We’ve received some questions about recent news regarding unrest in Mexico, and we completely understand the concern. Your safety and peace of mind are incredibly important to us, so we wanted to share some clarity and reassurance. Our wedding is in Cancun, on Mexico’s eastern coast in Quintana Roo. The areas in the news are far from Cancun—Puerto Vallarta, for example, is about a 30‑hour drive away. Mexico is a large country, and events in one region often have no impact on major resort destinations like Cancun. The resort is located in a highly secured hotel zone with private security, controlled access, and coordination with local authorities. Tourism is the region’s main industry, and visitor safety is a top priority. A few additional notes: • Our resort contract includes a Force Majeure clause covering events like war, pandemics, riots, or civil unrest. • Room bookings offer an optional insurance plan that allows a full refund at any time. • The U.S. has lifted its temporary advisory in the previously affected areas, and travel to Cancun remains open. • The wedding is in July, and conditions can change significantly over the coming months—we will continue to monitor everything carefully. Cancun remains one of the most visited international destinations for U.S. travelers, welcoming millions each year. We would never ask loved ones to travel somewhere we felt was unsafe, and we’ll keep everyone informed as the date approaches. Most importantly, we fully support whatever decision feels right for you and your family. Your safety and comfort matter most.
