Jenna and Ikaika both grew up in Oskaloosa, Iowa, where their families first crossed paths at Pella Corporation. Not long after, Jenna and her sister Anna started taking karate classes at Ikaika’s family gym. Jenna wasn’t exactly a fan of Ikaika back then—she preferred hanging out with his sisters, who often babysat her and Anna. In 2012, Jenna’s family moved to Humboldt, and the two lost touch. Aside from a single Instagram DM from Ikaika in 2015 (which Jenna ignored), they didn’t speak for years. Then in May 2019, Jenna followed Ikaika on Instagram. He sent a simple “Hey,” and that was enough to spark a slow but steady conversation. Jenna played hard to get, but by July 2019, she reached out while visiting Oskaloosa and asked if they could hang out. They spent that entire weekend together—and from that point on, they were inseparable. Jenna convinced her mom to drive her to Oskaloosa, or Ikaika’s family to meet half way almost every weekend. Once Jenna could drive herself, the trips became even more frequent. On November 9, 2019—Jenna’s 16th birthday—they officially became a couple. In January 2024, they moved to Des Moines together, and one month later, in February 2024, they got engaged. Now, after all these years and all those weekend drives, they can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of their story with you.
