Jenna and Evan met in middle school through mutual friends. At Hurricane High School, Evan and Jenna reconnected. Evan asked Jenna to Winter Formal in 2014, and that night they became boyfriend and girlfriend. They spent the rest of high school together and eventually attended WVU together. After college, Jenna and Evan moved to Alexandria, VA together and are living happily ever after... ♡

It was November 17th, 2023, and it was a warm 68 degree evening in Old Town Alexandria for the fall season. Jenna's parents were in town for a comedy show that weekend, and we had planned to take some photos by the water before we celebrated my birthday dinner. Since the sun set early, we left work a little early to make it in time. What Jenna didn't know was I had hired a photographer to capture the proposal. Funny enough, I found out a week before that he also worked at Deloitte... anyways back to the action. I had arranged for us to take off of work early and get ready, having her thinking it was to take pictures for my birthday. Nick, Jill, Jenna, and I took an Uber to the waterfront and started at Harborside Shipyard Park. A couple of minutes into taking photos at the first spot, she got suspicious and even started patting down my pockets trying to figure out if I had a ring on me. Luckily, the ring was safely hidden in her mom's purse. After taking a few photos, we went for a walk along the water. As we started the walk her mom handed me the ring. When we reached the bridge, I quickly took a selfie of us to throw her off her game and then got down on one knee and proposed. The photographer captured everything, and soon after Jenna said yes, my parents and Lauren came around the corner to surprise her. There were lots of happy tears, hugs, and photos with our families. Right now you are probably wondering where little bro AD is..... He was in Miami or at least that's what Jenna thought. After the proposal, we headed to dinner at Mia's Italian Kitchen in Old Town Alexandria (10/10 recommend), the first restaurant we went to after moving in together. As we started to walk in, AD showed up to surprise Jenna (his flight landed after the proposal because he had practice earlier that day), making the night even more special. We spend the rest of the evening celebrating with both families over great food, Chianti Classico, and the best meatballs around- officially kicking off the start of this new chapter together.
