Think of this as a forced vacation! Below is the link to the closest hotel to the Mark Twain Home. Just remember this is peak season in the Outer Banks! Think traffic, summer heat and tourists! It will be wise to pick a place to stay and make sure it has everything you want! We have reserved a block of rooms at the closest hotel to the property, Hampton Inn & Suites Corolla. However, if you are going to make a vacation of it Airbnb & Vrbo have many other options for accommodations close by!
There will be shuttle service provided to and from the hotel multiple times an hour throughout the evening. Please understand you are more than welcome to drive your own vehicle to the home however you will absolutely need 4x4 as the road is a sand road. There is an air let down station close by which you will need to do before driving on the sand! Bring your camera, as there will be wild horses and breath-taking views!
