As many of our friends and family already know, Dave and I both attended SUNY Brockport freshman class of Fall 2011 Dave as a Criminal Justice major and I as a Nursing Major. In nursing school I met my very best friend and Maid of Honor Danielle who just so happened to live in the same hallway and just a few doors down from Dave. I spent countless hours in that hallway studying with my fellow nursing majors, and one day I was introduced to this super cute, tall, dark, & handsome guy named David Willie. My group of friends and Dave’s group of friends just clicked and we all spent a lot our free time together, thanks to that Dave and I became very close friends. Fastforward to the summer before our senior year when Dave stayed in Brockport to take a summer class. I decided after a gentle (okay... probably strong) nudge from Danielle to go visit him...and the rest is history. Dave and I spent as much of that summer together as we could making trips back and forth from Clayton NY to Wappingers Falls NY as often as we could. Needless to say we came back to college that spring as a couple and all of our friends said “FINALLY”. Apparently everyone else knew before we did that we were perfect for each other.
In January of 2019 Dave I and jetted off to England for a little European getaway to visit our friends Danielle and Jonathan. Once we booked our plane tickets Dave suddenly started having a lot of "weekend plans” to go "visit his parents" and "help his dad build a new garage.” I of course didn't know this, but he was actually engagement ring shopping, not ditching me every weekend like I thought . While in England the four of us caught a plane to Ireland for a little four day getaway. We spent two days in Dublin and then drove across the Irish countryside (which is breathtaking by the way) to the Cliffs of Moher. While posing for what I thought was a picture at the Cliffs Dave dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. I of course jumped backwards and nearly fell off the cliffs, ugly cried, said YES! With the help of Danielle and Jonathan everything was caught on camera. We then spent the rest of our time left in Ireland eating (a lot), drinking (a lot, especially Guinness) , and celebrating with our very best friends. Truly the best vacation and an unforgetable proposal, to say that I am lucky would be an understatement.
