In the summer of 2023, Daniel (Sacramento, CA) was given Jenna's (Alicante, Spain) number to ask her about summer teaching programs in Spain. When Daniel contacted her in September for a "business" FaceTime call, he was immediately captivated by Jenna's beauty, adventurous spirit, and most importantly, her shared love for Jesus! They continued to investigate one another to see if this crazy connection could possibly develop into something truly spectacular. After a few weeks, Daniel knew he had to ask this beautiful and charming lady out on their first date when she returned to California for Christmas. Jenna enthusiastically said "Yes!" and from that moment on, they FaceTimed constantly leading up to their date. Daniel asked Jenna to be his girlfriend on the first date, December 20th, 2023. She gladly said "Yes!" and the following dates went exceptionally well. When Jenna returned to Alicante, Daniel was left alone in California wondering, "How could this relationship prosper from such a long distance?" He prayed and pondered about the idea of moving to Spain to close the gap between them. One month later, Daniel brought up the idea of teaching English in Spain that fall; Jenna lit up with excitement. He then visited Alicante for the first time that spring. Their relationship continued to blossom into what seemed to be a fairytale love story no one would ever believe. Daniel proposed on June 15, 2024, on the Mediterranean Sea in Alicante (she said "YES!" again! That's 3/3 yes responses) less than 6 months after meeting Jenna in person. The proposal included a gourmet picnic by the sea, a post-proposal photoshoot (see the photo gallery tab), a decadent five-course dinner, and ended with all of Jenna's most beloved friends gathering in her apartment for a surprise celebration. Daniel quit his teaching job in the U.S. and moved to Spain in September 2024 to live closer to the love of his life. This autumn, Daniel starts a new position teaching in Alicante. They both feel deeply blessed by God's hand guiding their love story, recognizing that only a great God could so seamlessly weave two separate lives into one with such love and grace.
