first comes home slice then comes marriage

It all began in October of 2021 when Chris and Jenna’s mutual friend, Morgan, introduced them over text, believing they would connect over both being small business owners. At first, Jenna didn’t think much of it—assuming it was one of those casual introductions that would pass by. But two weeks later, Chris unexpectedly showed up at her small camper store, Chasing Indigo. She was shocked to say the least and Chris described her as a “deer in the headlights” when he first saw her. He said he was “in the area” after doing a tasting for Misunderstood, and before she knew it, he had spent the next two hours there. Conversation (and whiskey) flowed, as if they had known each other for years, and despite typically avoiding whiskey, Jenna tried Misunderstood and unknowingly became a forever fan. After talking about their plans that night, Chris cancelled a Bumble date for a chance to hang out with Jenna. They decided to meet up later for a drink at a popular outdoor bar called Cosmic where Jenna had planned to go and meet up with some friends. To her surprise, no one ended up being available, so a group hang turned into just the two of them. The hours slipped away as they got to know each other’s northeastern roots, sharing laughs and passing by another five hours at a blink of an eye. After they closed down the bar, Chris walked her to her car and politely asked for a kiss—an offer she happily approved. They both loved Halloween and it was right around the corner. Chris romantically planned their first official date at a haunted house called the House of Torment. Jenna found it odd and terrifying, but she went anyway despite her initial nerves. Who knew demon clowns and zombies with chainsaws would be so lovey-dovey? That weekend, Jenna invited him to join her and her friends out for Halloween. Lacking creativity that year, she dressed as a devil, while Chris showed up as Ted Lasso – in full character all night (“Be a goldfish”). As she watched him win over her friends, she felt the butterflies and thought to herself, this might actually be something. On the other hand, Chris knew from the first 30 minutes of meeting Jenna, that this was something incredibly special, natural and different to him. That Sunday was spent recovering from the night before. They Netflix’ed and chilled, watching every Dave Chappelle special and Rush Hour. After Chris vented the night before about how much he missed NY style pizza, Jenna introduced Chris to her favorite pizza spot, Home Slice, which soon became their favorite Sunday meal tradition. And from that moment on, the rest was history.
