Our Love Story

- Jenna's POV - I used to wish that Andy and I had a romantic story about how we met. You know – a meet cute straight out of the movies. Andy and I met the modern way: by swiping right on Tinder (swoon!) in 2017. If you’re not familiar with Tinder, you’re able to see the friends you have in common on Facebook. I noticed from his profile, we had a few friends in common. After talking on the phone for awhile and I knew he wasn’t a serial killer, Andy was back in-town from college and I let him pick me up at my place, my parents house. We went to Incontro A Tavola in South Barrington, and after dinner and a few hours of talking, we ended up heading over to Main Event in Hoffman Estates . I heard from him the next day and every day after that. I never wondered if he was interested or when I’d hear from him. Ever. One date night turned into every day of the summer together. We ended the summer on a trip to Clearwater Beach, FL where we would start the beginning of our young relationship. Eventually Andy would go back to attending college at Belmont University in Nashville TN and I at Harper College in Palatine, IL. I would work part-time during college putting all my extra cash into plane tickets to see Andy in Nashville, TN. Eventually I would transfer schools to Nashville and move in with Tyra Short and Marin Wirths (my bridemaid and MOH), who I share some of my favorite memories with. Andy, being the one who introduced and coordinated my move-in with my now lifelong sisters. Now 6 years later, so much has happened. We have been inseparable and have been through some of the best and some of the hardest times together and we know there’s a lot more to come. Andy has been everything I could’ve dreamed of and more in a husband, a true gentleman. He is an old soul and our love is a type of love that I can only compare to as our grandparents generations. I count myself lucky that I swiped right and found the love of a lifetime. Our own modern day meet cute. - Andy's POV - 6 years ago, my life changed with the swipe of a finger…literally. I was home for Christmas break, 18 Year old me was swiping through an app when I came across a beautiful blonde girl wearing a St.Patrick's Blackhawks Jersey. This girl was something special…so special that I gave her a “Super Like”. When we matched, I played it the opposite of cool, I bugged her constantly. We spent the next semester chatting on & off, until I came back home for the summer. With pride I can say that I BEGGED her to go out with me. Finally, I wore her down enough where she agreed to let me take her out on a date. This was my one chance, and I needed to make it count because this girl was wayyy out of my league. I picked an Italian restaurant and planned for a romantic dinner. I was nervous, very nervous, but I was trying to play it as cool as I could. She immediately mocked me for my order of Spaghetti & Meatballs, I knew then she was something special. I spent the rest of the night telling jokes and trying to get her to laugh, and crossing my fingers she would fall for me as I was already falling for her. The first date went so well, I confidently said, “so what’re you doing tomorrow”. I spent the rest of my summer asking her that same question day after day. After countless trips, dinners, parties, weddings, movie nights with roommates I am lucky enough to call this girl, Jenna, my forever love. She has been the light of my life, the person I can always look to, and my absolute best friend. She is an amazing woman and I am the luckiest person alive to get to spend the rest of my life with her.
