Jenna and Nick each joined the same online gaming community during the COVID era, when everyone was spending more time indoors. They didn’t cross paths right away, but eventually mutual friends within the community introduced them to one another. What started as casual chats quickly grew into daily phone calls and FaceTimes, and before long, friendship turned into something more. On August 15, 2022, they finally met in person and made their relationship official that very same day. Four years later, on that exact date, they’ll say “I do!”

The first year of Jenna and Nick’s relationship was anything but ordinary with 2,395 miles between them. With Jenna in the Greater Seattle Area and Nick in the Bronx, they embraced the challenge of keeping their connection strong across the distance. Every month, one of them packed a bag and boarded a flight, trading a week or so in each other’s city. Those journeys created space for intentional time together, which made for a unique setting that nurtured their bond and allowed their love to grow.

As their relationship grew more serious, Jenna and Nick made the decision together: Nick would move west. They knew the Pacific Northwest held endless adventures waiting to be explored by Nick, an avid outdoorsman—and waiting for him, too, was Milo, Jenna’s (and now Nick's, too) Labrador, who had already started to adore him. So, the two set off on a five-day cross-country drive in Nick’s gifted family car (thank you, Donna and Eugene!), a 2005 Honda Pilot, packed to the brim with his belongings. Along the way, they turned a big move into a shared adventure, with a memorable stop at Yellowstone National Park before arriving in Kirkland to their shared apartment to begin their new chapter living together.

After three years together - sharing dreams and building a life side by side - Jenna and Nick knew they were ready for forever (Milo saw it coming; he had adopted Nick long ago). On September 5th, 2025, under a smoky late-summer sunset at Waverly Park on Lake Washington, they spread out a picnic and reflected on their journey so far and the exciting future they couldn’t wait to create together. In a lovely moment, Nick asked Jenna to marry him! They celebrated by calling their parents with the happy news and ended the day with a special dinner at Daniel’s Broiler in Bellevue.
