Before they started seeing one another, Ryan and Jenn hung out with the same group of people in college and ultimately became friends. Jenn tried to be friends with Ryan during their sophomore year of school, when he first transferred to IUP, but Ryan claims he was too shy to talk to her at first. *Eye roll.* Their friendship blossomed after one night at the bar, when they jokingly told a stranger they were engaged to be married and they were planning on having a Nascar-themed wedding. The stranger congratulated the (at the time) fake lovebirds and proceeded to buy drinks for them and all their friends. The next day, Jenn saw an older couple walking down the street hand-in-hand wearing Nascar jackets. Little did she know that this was likely a sign from Cupid himself. While it took Ryan longer to befriend Jenn, it took Jenn longer to date Ryan. Eventually, after spending more time together and sharing many laughs, interests, and political debates, Jenn realized the man of her dreams was right in front of her all along. On November 1, 2009, the two became official and have since added a cat, dog, and many houseplants (most of which are still alive) to their lives. Hiking, traveling, laughter, coffee, and slow dancing in their kitchen have become staples in their relationship. Finally, after more than nine years together, Ryan popped the question on December 21, 2018, in the comfort of their living room. It was special, private, and unique to them, and they are ecstatic that you will soon be watching them make their love official on Saturday, July 27, 2019.
