Our Story / Room 409 We first met in 1979 on the campus of Wilberforce University. Nate was entering his third year as an Accounting & Economics major from Charleston, South Carolina. Tannie was entering her second year as a Psychology major from Atlanta, Georgia. They met in Shorter Hall (CoEd dormitory) on the campus in room 409. Nate had reserved this special room and was coming back to campus from his internship in Dayton, Ohio. Tannie on the other hand, got the “hook up” from a friend in Student Housing and stole his room. Upon discovering who had stolen his room, Nate calmed down and discovered this beautiful Georgia Peach was the culprit. Upon seeing her, He was immediately capitivated by her beauty. However, it wasn’t meant to be at the time. They became really fast friends, got to know each other and officially started dating in 1983. They were engaged in 1984 and married one year later on June 8, 1985. To their Blessed union, Jayson (1990) and Janelle (1994) were born. God has truly been kind and Blessed us with 46 years of true friendship and 40 years as husband and wife. Thanks for helping us celebrate this milestone anniversary.
