For starters, Jenille has always been on her toes about Nathan proposing to her. They have always talked about getting engaged around the time of Nathan's last year of college. So when the time came for Nathan to graduate in April, Jenille thought about all the possible opportunities where/when Nathan would propose. A couple weeks after Nathan's graduation, he and Jenille ended up planning a trip out to Washington in July to visit Nathan's aunt and uncle; moreover, once those dates were set, Jenille couldn't help but think that's when Nathan would propose. Moving forward into May, their friend group had been talking about doing a hiking day sometime soon as a group hangout. Little did Jenille know that the hike would be the day that he would propose, which is exactly what Nathan wanted - for Jenille to be caught off guard! After a good two and a half mile hike up to the Beale Falls waterfall, the group decided to take pictures. Tage (Nathan's brother-in-law), had the ring in his bag and he very sneakily handed the ring to Nathan just before they were about to take couple photos. While taking photos, Nathan decided to kneel and "fix his shoe"; however, he looked up at Jenille instead with a ring box in his hand. Jenille instantly started crying, and after a small speech from Nathan was said, he asked her, "Will you marry me?". Without a doubt in her mind, Jenille managed to hold back enough tears to nod to her high school sweetheart and say, "Yes!".
