My first words to Mason ever were… “I didn’t expect to see a human come from behind that door..” He smiled at me clearly seeing my embarrassment in what just came from my mouth. Awkward flirting ensued. I mean who meets organically these days?!?! I asked him if my clumsy flirting was working and the man said “No”. Defeat had been met or at least I thought. What proceeded to happen next forever changed my trajectory. We talked for hours. And hours. And I mean hours. He taught me to play chess ( I still have never won). We learned that we shared a lot in common and enjoyed each others presence. We began dating. We bought our first home in December 21’. Began running his business in February 22’. Life was crazy. We almost gave up on each other but-the universe has a way of showing you your soulmate. We aren’t filled with romance or hallmark moments. We are a real couple whose been thru it. It’s not always unicorns and rainbows but-Mason sure as hell made me feel like there was. In May of 22’ while in a hospital, he got down on one knee. I told him to get up immediately. He said he would stay there until the next day until I answered him. It’s pretty self explanatory what I said if you all are reading this here today. Life is pretty good when you get to marry your best friend. It’s not always easy but, we sure have fun.
