FAQs

Question

What Covid precautions will be implemented?

Answer

Currently we are requiring all guests to have a negative covid test within 72 hours of the weekend's events. Documentation of proof is not needed, but for the safety of all of our guests - especially those who are most vulnerable - we ask and are trusting you to please comply with this requirement. Also, masks are now required in Half Moon Bay for all indoor events except while eating or drinking. As portions of the weekend's events will be indoors, please plan accordingly.

Question

Where can I get a rapid covid test near Half Moon Bay?

Answer

OnPoint COVID Testing 650 El Camino Real, San Bruno, CA 94066 https://onpoint-testing.com/ Open from 8am-7pm 7 minute drive from the rental car center at SFO $59 for a rapid antigen test RESERVE A TIME SLOT IN ADVANCE. With the new California testing mandates, appointments do fill up. Covid Clinic 101 Terminal Ct, San Francisco, CA 94080 https://www.covidclinic.org/sfo/ Open from 7am-7pm Drive Thru only 7 minute drive from the rental car center at SFO $129 for a rapid antigen test RESERVE A TIME SLOT IN ADVANCE Please note that the small town of Half Moon Bay does not have any rapid testing sites that we could find. San Francisco International Airport does, but the test costs range from $225-$250, which is why we suggest the options above.

Question

What do we do about gifts?

Answer

As the saying goes in New York City, "fugettaboutit!" At this point in life, we are fortunate to be able to say that we have what we need. Plus, we live in a small Brooklyn apartment with not even one extra inch of space for more stuff. So please believe us when we sincerely say, your attendance at our wedding is truly the greatest gift of all to us and we couldn't ask for anything more.

Question

Who can we contact on the day of the wedding if something urgent comes up?

Answer

Our friend, Danielle Gallant, is very familiar with Half Moon Bay and will be able to assist with most needs that might arise. She'll also be the point person if you need to reach us in case of an emergency. Her cell is (415) 215-2594. As a last resort, Lisa Graye, the Mavericks House Event Manager can be reached at (714) 654-9486.

Question

What are the nearest airports to Half Moon Bay?

Answer

San Francisco International Airport is the closest and will have the most flight choices. Oakland International Airport and San Jose International Airport are also reasonable options.

Question

What are our best options for getting to/from the airport?

Answer

A car rental is the ideal option, not only for transport to/from the airport but definitely also once you are in town. Taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts are also widely available upon arrival at the airport (but not in Half Moon Bay!) There are no routine shuttle buses or hotel shuttles from any of the airports to Half Moon Bay. For scheduled taxi, limo, or passenger van service, please see details further below. Our recommendation if you choose not to get a rental car is to use Uber/Lyft from the airport and pre-arrange a taxi/limo service for the return trip to the airport.

Question

What are our options for getting around town in Half Moon Bay?

Answer

To get anywhere around town, we strongly advise getting your own rental car. Because Half Moon Bay is a remote beachside community, there are only a very small handful of taxis, Ubers, or Lyfts available and there will be steep competition to get one. If you are one of the lucky few that do get a taxi, heavy traffic will make for high fares. There is a bus that runs approximately once per hour on weekdays and once every two hours on weekends. It is SamTrans line 17 and you can find the schedule here: https://bit.ly/3fn6kOZ Your best bet for getting around town if you do not have a rental car is to buddy up with other wedding guests.

Question

I don't see where to indicate a meal option for dinner in the RSVP. Am I missing something?

If, however, you have special dietary needs, please feel free to note that when prompted in your RSVP for the Reception. Mavericks House will be able to modify dishes for you accordingly.
