Parents of the Groom
Officiant & Man of Honor
Best friends with the bride since the days of sharing a locker way back during freshman year of high school. The two share many similarities; both are planners, anally retentive, some say they suffer from the single-child-syndrome. These traits definitely help Corey be successful in his role as a project manager in Houston. A drink in hand drifting on a lake on a pontoon boat are just some of their favorite activities. He is her brother from a different mother. And now, almost twenty years later with many miles between, they're still best friends.
Best Man
It’s fitting that Jon is the best man given that it’s down to him that Jenessa and Prasanna first met! Prasanna and Jon were roommates in college whilst Jon was studying abroad in London. They bonded over many parties consisting of Flip Cup and Beirut in the kitchen; baseball in the corridor and the manifestation of many London road signs in the hall. Post college they traded cross Atlantic visits, with the recent trips revolving around golf. Prasanna is still waiting for his first W!
Maid of Honor
Lindsey is like Jenessa’s little sister. They met in high school where Jenessa worked as an assistant at Lindsey’s mom’s salon. She may be younger but she’s wiser beyond her years. They share some of the same passions including beauty, animals and wine. Along with being an extremely successful hairdresser, Lindsey is a fur mommy and has founded her own animal rescue. She works with rescues across the country to find furever homes for these pups. And one day soon Prasanna and Jenessa hope to adopt their own fur baby with Lindsey’s help. Lindsey always has Jenessa’s back; continuous support even if she doesn’t always agree with her decisions. That’s what friends are for after all. Thank God for FaceTime so they we can share a glass of red wine together no matter how far apart they are!
Co-Best Man
They first met in the 90s and he immediately became the favourite. After Prasanna accepted that he wasn’t going to be the centre of attention anymore, they became friends. Asantha has always loved Prasanna’s fashion sense. From matching clothes in early family photos to now ‘borrowing’ or even buying the same brands. Asantha also followed in Prasanna’s cricket and golfing footsteps; most would argue to a higher standard. Jury’s still out in Prasanna’s eyes!
Bridesmaid
Jenessa and Laura were introduced through a friend week two of Laura arriving to New York from London. Going to dinner with her may be a nightmare because of her alliums allergy. Fortunately this doesn't extend to alcohol because they both share a love for boozy brunch. Laura may sound like a Royal but don’t let that accent fool you, she’s got a mouth like a sailor. She’s the sweetest and most blunt individual but you’ll thank her for the honesty. It sounds better coming from her anyways.
Groomsman
Prasanna and Myles met whilst working for Anglo American. Given their shared love of having a few drinks and the average age of the company being well in the 40s, it didn’t take them long to find each other. However, Myles did have a convenient habit of disappearing just before his turn to buy the rounds…don’t worry Myles this wedding is open bar but keep the slobering and slurring until it’s dark please!
Bridesmaid
The one that is a jack of all trades! Kristi and Jenessa met in their early twenties through mutual friends. Kristi is a Wonder Woman for many reasons. She is a mommy of two. And she worked full time while also completing school full time to become a nurse practitioner. Phew! That’s a lot just thinking about it. We don’t know how she does it. But when she does find some downtime you will either find her doing active stuff like yoga, master planning trips or baking the most amazing cakes. These are not to be missed! No matter what comes her way she always has a smile and a positive attitude. And she’s always down to party……she must get all that energy from all those headstands on paddleboards she does!
Groomsman
Prasanna and Neil first met whilst (trying to) play cricket for Harrow St Mary’s Cricket Club. A sign of things to come, before their first game together several pints of Guinness were consumed. ‘I think I’m too drunk to bat’ was exchanged as they crossed paths to bat. Needless to say neither of them got any runs, true of most of their cricketing careers! Lucky they both traded cricket for golf and wine festivals. Neil is also credited for getting Prasanna into the ‘exciting’ world of Treasury.
Bridesmaid
You can take the girl out of Wisconsin, but you can’t take the Wisconsin out of the girl! No truer statement for Sara. Who can be found carrying her koozie with her to keep her beers cold. Sara and Jenessa met back in 2007 where they worked together as hair stylists. But it wasn’t until they bonded over a boy that they became truly great friends. Obviously, the boy has gone, but a lifelong friend had remained. Along with being a successful hairdresser Sara also teaches dance and is a mommy to a wonderful little boy. He followed in her footsteps and is quite a little dancer and a Packer fan! For those that think they can dance be prepared for battles with Sara!
Groomsman
Mac and Prasanna met through Myles. A high flying financial lawyer, with a penchant for a drink during work to ease the boredom of law. They have met up for a cold beer in many countries around the world including France, America and his native Australia. Don’t worry, that convict sound coming from his mouth conceals a very intelligent brain but feel free to ask him to repeat himself or speak slower!
