I must say that I have always been an online dating skeptic: "it just seems so impersonal, well that's not really a fun 'how we met' story, what if I meet a creep." Now, I owe some thanks to a couple co-workers for pushing me to join bumble since it led me to the man of my dreams (thanks Amy and Maggie)! I also must say that I feel incredibly fortunate that I only had to go on one online date! I remember swiping right because he took the time to write a little bio on his profile that included something like how he enjoyed outside activities, but also enjoyed staying home watching Netflix. It also helped that he was handsome, had a picture of him riding a horse (which I later found out was like a one time occurrence), and a picture of him with his dog. Our initial conversation was about the Broncos of course since we met in late September. It wasn't long before he asked to meet me. September 24, I remember getting ready to go on this online date trying to come up with a good reason not to go. I guess I couldn't come up with a good enough reason so I walked out the door and headed to Fuzzy's Taco Shop that evening. I was standing in line, which was out the door when he walked up. We introduced ourselves and headed to the bar for a drink. The only table available was outside which seemed like a great idea at first, but as the sun went down I started to freeze! I didn't say anything, maybe for the sake of seeming tough (haha). We stayed out there for probably an hour before he got chilled to. After we continued talking for a bit he told me that he decided I wasn't a psychopath and asked if I wanted to get dinner with him. I obliged and rode with him to a fancy new restaurant in town (which he didn't know was fancy). We had a lovely dinner as we bonded over Disney movies! The rest is history.... <3
Stay home and watch New Girl, or get my ass off the couch and go meet a new girl? I never enjoyed online dating, especially since one, I never had to participate until I moved down to the Springs and two, my last online date waited for a month to "tell" me that she had kids. Needless to say, I decided to meet Jenessa at Fuzzy's to see if she'd pass the first round of screening. I don't remember much at Fuzzy's except for the fact that she braved the freezing cold for an entire beer. Which knowing her now, I would have thought it was an impossible task for her to accomplish. I thought she wasn't crazy enough for me to go back home and watch more New Girl, so I asked if she wanted to continue the date and grab dinner. She was more than thrilled :p I always wanted to try Till, so I decided to take her there. Little did I know, the place cost about half an arm and a leg. All I could think at the time was, "This girl better be worth it..." She scarfed down the burger and held a pretty engaging Disney conversation with me. We also talked about the future and stuff like that too :) Long story short, I was hooked. Here we are today, and I couldn't be more excited for what our future holds!
