If you didn’t already know, Jenelle and Jacob are high school sweethearts. They were introduced by one of their oldest mutual friends, Kelly Seck, at 15 years old and their story started even before things were “official.” One of their earliest memories together set the tone for everything that followed—Jacob took Jenelle to his high school locker, got down on one knee, and proposed with a Ring Pop. She (obviously) said yes, and just like that, they were “married” on Facebook—a status Jenelle never changed. Not long after, they made things official and have been taking on the world side by side ever since. After high school, Jacob attended Chico State while Jenelle went to UC Davis. Their journey didn’t get any easier from there—Jenelle went on to Oregon State University for veterinary school, leading to four more years of long distance. While the distance was challenging, it ultimately brought them closer and strengthened their relationship. Through it all, they have supported each other’s ambitions and pushed one another to grow. Jenelle is now a practicing veterinarian and has been for the past three years, and Jacob is currently attending medical school - and we could not be more proud of him. Choosing to navigate long distance while pursuing demanding career paths is a true reflection of their dedication—not just to their goals, but to each other. Along the way, they’ve built a little family of their own. They share two amazing dogs, Odie and Aloha, who they absolutely adore, along with two birds. While the birds may have been a bit of a COVID-era decision, they’ve turned out to be a wonderful (and entertaining) addition to the family. They are incredibly proud of how far they’ve come, both individually and as a team, and now they can’t wait to close the distance for good and continue building their life together.
