In a nutshell, our story is one of providence. Ezra and I would have never imagined that we would fall in love and be getting married when we first met. Ezra started at Portland Bible College two years after me and he is also the little brother of my dear friend, Asia. To make matters more complicated, I called Ezra a “precious little lamb” to his face practically everyday! Both he and I were blind to what was going to be, but thankfully his mother, Janie, was not! She knew from the get go that we were meant to be and told her husband, Garrick all about me! This explains why the following year when I had occasion to meet Ezra’s family, Garrick picked me out of a crowd of people and asked me why I wasn’t dating his son! Needless to say, he was successful because he got me curious. Ezra was one of my last friends still on campus and we had several classes together. Ezra realized he liked me during the PBC kickoff retreat and it took me a whole month since his father proposed the idea until I realized I liked Ezra as well. Once I realized I liked Ezra I knew I couldn’t let him slip through my fingers; I knew I alone was responsible for communicating my feelings, so I did. We were sitting on the dock under the St. Johns Bridge in Portland, Oregon, working on our Pentateuch homework when Ezra opened the door by asking me a question regarding moments I would want to relive. I knew this was my chance. It took me a chicken answer and lots of nerves before I worked up the courage to say, “moments like these.” Two months later we started dating, and roughly a year and a half later we got engaged! We married each other May 17, 2020 under the same bridge where we told each other we had feelings for one another. We have been having a blast living happily ever after with each other, and now that the global pandemic is winding down, we are excited to be able to celebrate our love with all of our friends and family present this summer!
