We both swiped right compliments of the dating app, Bumble. Who knew we were destined to have found the amazing love we share today on an app…on the internet…CRAZY! :)
Steven We first met in person at a local brewery in Riverside called Wicks Brewing Company. Pulling up to the date, I was so nervous, excited, and anxious. She was running a little behind so I decided to wait on the tail bed of my truck. In hindsight, I should've gone to the bar and snuck in a drink to calm the nerves. We had a few drinks, she schooled me on trivia (I'm terrible at this), and took a sip of my beer without asking first. I knew I was in for trouble with this one! Jen I was so excited when Steven suggested Wick's Brewery and to top it off, it was trivia night! (my fav). Pulling up to Wick's I felt nervous but excited. I had seen Steven in pictures, when I spotted him sitting on the tail bed of his truck I felt even more excited! He was quiet at first but warmed up after I sampled his beer without asking :)
Steven The "Second First Date" is a long story, but if you know us well, you likely know the story. Anyways, I picked her up and we went to one of her favorite places - the Temecula wineries (Callaway and Danza). This date was amazing beyond words and I knew, at this point, this was a girl that I really wanted to get to know and spend time with. I had made reservations at Stone Brewery in Escondido for dinner (one of my favorite places). After some hesitance from Jen (mainly to keep me on my toes I think), we finally made it down there for dinner and the fun continued. It was so easy and so much fun being around Jen that I needed more. Jen After ghosting me (haha) Steven made a very valiant effort to sneak back into my life. I finally gave in and agreed to hang out with him after Thanksgiving. We went on a date to two of my favorite Temecula wineries and I kept him on his toes about dinner later. Eventually we ended up at Stone Brewery in Escondido, one of our favorite places! He is the sweetest guy and definitely stole my heart at this point.
Steven After our second first date, Jen and I became inseparable and we both fell hard and fast. We quickly realized that we were obsessed with each other and moved in together (with some slight PR hesitance). This was the best decision we made. Living together and spending so much time together was amazing and it was pretty obvious that this could be a lifelong thing. Please stay tuned. Jen Steven and I had the best time getting to know each other. Everything we did felt like an adventure! Once we moved in together we spent a lot of time fixing up the house and are in the process of creating our dream backyard. I think our favorite thing to do is stay home and hang out in our backyard with some drinks.
Steven Went to pick out the ring in November, told Jen that I was seeing my best man, Nolan. Picked out a stone and then obsessively looked over bands to place the beautiful diamond. After looking many times (and hiding every picture), I found it and it turned out exactly as I imagined! This was the ring that was going to change our lives! So, we traveled to Peru, which was one of my bucket list places (Machu Picchu) and I thought, "What an amazing place to propose?". So, I traveled to a foreign country carrying the ring, checking my bag every 5 minutes the entire trip making sure it didn’t disappear into thin air (cause these things happen). After a trip of planes, trains, and automobiles, we arrived in Aguas Calientes, the night before the proposal. Waking up in the morning to go to Machu Picchu, I was nervous, excited, and pretty much every other emotion you can think of. After one of the hardest hikes we've both ever done, we made it to the top of Montana Machu Picchu which had an amazing view of the Machu Picchu ruins. I had an entire speech prepared and I was ready to go, however, I was so nervous and couldn't wait to propose, all that came out was "I love you so much, will you marry me?" as I dropped to one knee. Luckily, she said yes! (you’re welcome, because now you’re invited to our wedding! And I'm so lucky cause I get to marry the best woman on the planet! Jen We waited for what seemed like an eternity for December and our trip to Peru! At one point Steven took his backpack into the bathroom with him which I remember thinking was strange. I had no idea what was in store! After the hardest hike ever at some pretty serious elevation we were rewarded with the most breathtaking view of Machu Picchu! I was rewarded with an even better view with the love of my life down on one knee and the most gorgeous diamond ring I've ever seen. I couldn't have been more excited to say yes! We celebrated after with the Peruvian llamas.
