Question

What is a Reverse Wedding?

Answer

We are doing things out of order during our big day - we are flipping the order of the ceremony and the dinner. We are excited that so many people are coming from all corners but before we head into a ceremony, we thought it would be nice for everyone to hear more about our story and what is important to us as we make our vows. That means that everything kicks off at 6pm on the Terrace. We're starting with the dinner. While we do that, we'll have toasts and speak to some the things that we are most excited about going into our ceremony. In doing so, we hope the ceremony will be even more meaningful to you because you'll understand what we're about to promise each other and why it matters. During Golden Hour, after the food, toasts and stories, then we'll get married. Our friends, Ann and Ryan will officiate our ceremony in the same spot, the Terrace. Vows, happy tears, a first kiss as a married couple - all the great things. All that is left after that is to dance - downstairs at The Magic Rat, a funky indoor/outdoor lounge, we'll dance, eat snacks and cupcakes and enjoy an open bar with plenty of fun cocktails and mocktails. Connect, Then Commit, Then Enjoy Ourselves - We liked the flow of that.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our Dress Code: Summer Cocktail What this means: ✅ Dress shirts, dress pants, loafers ✅ Cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, chic separates ✅ Breathable, elevated fabrics (silk, linen, chambray, lightweight cotton) ✅ Dress shoes (no sneakers—even fancy ones) ✅ Patterns, prints, and statement pieces encouraged! ❌ No jeans (any style, any color) ℹ️ Jackets and ties are totally optional (we know it's hot!) The Vibe: We're celebrating on an open-air terrace (in July!) before dancing the night away in an indoor/outdoor lounge. Dress up but smartly for the weather—think linen, silk, lightweight fabrics. Show off your style! Wear that bold color, fun pattern, or statement piece you've been waiting for the right moment to break out. Or keep it classic—you do you.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Always. We are celebrating our family and that includes all the little ones - besides, we love to see their moves on the dance floor. There will be other parents there so if we can help arrange babysitting among all of the parents we are happy to do so.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is a parking structure directly next to the Elizabeth Hotel. Firehouse Alley Parking Garage 165 Chestnut St. Free for first hour, then $1 for each additional hour. Parking is free on Sundays and City holidays.

Question

Can I add a +1 to my RSVP?

Answer

Yes. If we knew of your +1, we planned them into our invite list. If we didn't know about them and it is important for you to include them, feel free to add them to our invite list by our RSVP deadline by texting one of us. We just ask that they are excited to celebrate with us and are ready to have a great time with us!

Question

Will you be sending a paper invitation to me?

Answer

Ummm, no. We're not big on paper and we prefer to put the cost of stamps toward the fun of our wedding. You'll get a text from us, or maybe an email if we are feeling fancy (and extra organized, lol).
