We met in a very romantic and traditional way...on Tinder! Just as I (Jen) was about to throw in the towel and deactivate my account, I received a message from Kris. We met up, had a pretty bad first date, and I figured I'd never see him again. Instead, I gave him another shot, we bonded over hibachi and our love of cats, and here we are today! Both thankful for "second chances".
We were vacationing in the Carolinas and on our second to last day, rented a Jeep Wrangler so we could spend the day enjoying Freeman Park Beach, known for 4-wheel vehicles and fishing. Once parked and settled, Kris took off to "make new friends." Little did I know what he had up his sleeve... After "interviewing" beach-goers for someone to assist in his proposal, he settled on Kate and James, a couple of locals who we ended up spending the afternoon with. After soaking up some sun and enjoying some beach beverages, Kris suggested that I help James reel in his next fish. When the time came, I grabbed the pole and did my damnedest to not lose his catch. When the line finally came in, I was quite surprised to not see a fish, but a ring attached to the other end. When I turned around to inquire how that could possibly happen, there Kris was, down on one knee, where he told me that I was the biggest catch of his life and asked me to be his wife. I guess it's obvious what my answer was...
