Train
Depending on where you are in Barcelona, there are two trains you can take. The link below is where you can find the daily train schedules. Option 1: The R3 train from Barcelona-Sants (train station) directly to Vic. They run roughly every hour for a duration of 1h30m. Option 2: The R3 train from Barcelona-Placa de Catalunya (train station) directly to Vic. This is also roughly every hour, and just shy of 1h30m in duration. You have to purchase the train ticket at the station. Vic is in Zone 6 - which means each ticket will be roughly EUR 7.40.
Travel Note
If you plan to rent a car in Spain, you may want to consider an International driving permit (IDP). This can be done either at AAA or by mail and instructions can be found at the link below. We recommend renting through the Barcelona airport.
Hotel
We have a block of rooms at this hotel, Les Clarisses. It is about a 10m walk from the train station in Vic. While we have this block, Vic is a very old city with small businesses and limited space so we recommend booking your hotel in advance.

This hotel does not offer blocks but its a great secondary option for a place to stay right in the town of Vic. It is less than a 10 minute walk from the train station and a 10 minute walk to the other hotel. For an extra EUR 15/person/day you can also add breakfast to your reservation.
