I love the way you brighten my day with all the simple things that you say. I love you how you have in your notepad every single date that we've had. I love the passion that you give with every moment that you live. I love how you can terrorize and also melt my heart with your eyes. I love that I can talk to you all night about topics from the left to the right. I love how beautiful you always look just like a princess from a fairy tale book. Most importantly, I love how thoughtful you are to me which is why I am now bending the knee. Love, Hiep
Like most couples these days, Jennifer and I met each other on a dating app. I can still remember the day that her profile popped up on my account. Jennifer just had a smile so effervescent and genuine that it immediately caught my eye. My excitement only grew as I realized that her profile was a mirror image of mine: loves to travel (check), close to family (check), proudly Vietnamese (check), educated bay area native (check) warriors fan (well 4 out of 5 isn’t bad). Right then and there, I just knew that I had to ask her out, so I spent bagels (currency on the app) to capture her attention. It took two days to finally make the connection with her but I was so stoked. At the time, I was sadly a veteran of the online dating game so my game plan was to play it coy. I spent an hour thinking of the best opening line when she just messaged me out of the blue. It caught me so off guard that all my plans went out the window and we just chatted like old friends. After some back and forth as well as radio silence for a couple of days, I went for broke and asked her out. Since I live an hour and a half away from Jennifer, we decided to have boba on a Wednesday in San Jose. That evening, I was giddy with anticipation the whole ride down to San Jose. As I was walking up to the store, Jennifer popped up right in front of me and I was just floored by how pretty she was. Pictures really did not do her justice. I tried to play it cool but deep down I knew that it was going to be a losing battle. Fortunately for me, Jennifer was so down to earth that it calmed my nerves. We proceeded to chat all night until closing and the rest was history.
