Questions & Answers

Have questions about the reception or any of the logistics? We'll try and answer as many as we can here.
Question

Wait, aren't Jen and Gary already married?

Answer

Yes! Even though we will have been married for over a year and a half by October 2021, we still never had an official wedding reception. Plus, after the past year and a half, who isn't looking for any excuse for a celebration?

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Wear what you think is appropriate for a Saturday afternoon wedding! If we had to put a label on it, we'd say "cocktail attire." Think suits and ties for men, and dresses of any length or suits for women. Maybe you've had the outfit sitting in your closet since March 2020, so now's the time to wear it! The bride and groom will be breaking out their wedding attire once again for the occasion.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love your kids! However, if we invited all of them, it would double the size of our wedding, which we can't do. So adults only, please. If this causes any issues, please get in touch with us. We don't want anyone to miss out because of childcare issues.

Question

Is there a hotel block for out of town guests?

Answer

Yes. We have a block of rooms reserved at the Park Ridge Marriott, a short ride away from the wedding venue. Please see the Accommodations and Travel page for details.

Question

Will transportation be provided for guests staying at the Park Ridge Marriott hotel?

Answer

Yes. There will be a round trip shuttle bus from the hotel to the venue and back. But you must be a registered guest in our room block to ride the shuttle. See the Accommodations and Travel page for details.

Question

Will there be vegetarian and gluten-free meal options? How about kosher food?

Answer

Yes, vegetarian and gluten-free meal options will be available. These will not need to be ordered in advance. However, feel free to let us know if you have any special dietary needs, and please let us know if you need a kosher meal.

Question

I'm concerned about COVID-19. What precautions are being taken to help ensure everyone's safety?

Answer

We share your concerns and we will be working closely with the wedding venue to make accommodations to ensure everyone's safety. More details to follow as the date draws closer. Here's what we are doing, for now: - The cocktail hour will be held both indoors and outdoors, so guests will have the option to stay outside (heat lamps will be available if needed). - The reception will be held indoors; however, the room is large, we will limit table sizes, and tables will be spaced as far apart as possible. The outdoor space will remain accessible throughout the reception, should you feel the need to step outside. - All food during the cocktail reception and dinner will be plated in advance and served by attendants (i.e., no self-serve). - All servers who handle food or beverages will be masked at all times.
