Picture it. Jacksonville, September 2016. Jen was the membership chair for the Red Shoe Crew and was making the rounds and talking to members at their annual fundraiser, Fries With That Wine. Anthony was attending the event with his friends Joey and Rebecca who were new Red Shoe Crew members. Jen came over to say hi and noticed Anthony. At that same time Anthony’s friend, Tiffany, handed him her wine glass and walked away to get some food. Jen assumed this was his girlfriend (she was not lol). Rebecca introduced the two and Jen put out her hand to shake Anthony’s hand. His hands were full, so he did an awkward “cheers” with one of his wine glasses. (His words). Jen and Anthony parted ways and did not see each other for the rest of the night. However, throughout the night Anthony repeatedly asked Rebecca for Jen’s name so he would not forget it. Two days later Anthony did “what any respectable man in the 21st century would do” and sent Jen a friend request on Facebook. The next day Anthony messaged Jen and they started chatting. Jen tried to recruit Anthony for the Red Shoe Crew before realizing he was flirting with her. They had their first date a week later. And have been inseparable ever since.
