Let's Get Married

One night in college, Jennifer invited Alex over for some cake. Alex was a bit confused about why the cake had her name on it, but he enjoyed it anyways. The next morning, he woke up abruptly and had a startling realization: that was Jennifer’s birthday cake (made by the talented Claire Akashi)! He immediately ran over to Jen’s apartment, knocked on her door, and wished her a happy birthday. Six years later, he has yet to forget her birthday again.

One evening after a tennis lesson, Jennifer and Alex were on their way to dinner at Chick-Fil-A. Jennifer grabbed Alex’s phone to double check if Chick-Fil-A was still open, but when she turned the phone on, she discovered something completely different. She saw an email that said “your ring is ready for pick-up.” Needless to say she began bawling her eyes out. Alex knew immediately what she saw. They sat in silence in the drive-thru line while tears continued down Jen’s cheeks. A couple of weeks later on Miyajima Island in Japan, Alex popped the question. Although the element of surprise was lessened, Jennifer still cried (a lot).
