Zachary and Jenae’s story began at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, a place where equations, experiments, and endless cups of matcha filled their days. Zachary was deep into the world of Civil Engineering, while Jenae was busy conquering the challenges of Chemical Engineering. Though their majors were different, their hearts were destined to intersect. Their paths crossed through their shared love of sports and faith at a campus club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Between late-night practices and heartfelt devotionals, they found themselves talking about more than just games and grades. They shared their struggles, dreams, and a deep compassion for the Lord that instantly connected them. It was Zachary who made the first move, asking for Jenae’s number after one of the meetings. Not long after, he worked up the courage to call and ask her on a date. Jenae was ecstatic! She answered the phone with a smile that didn’t fade the rest of the night. Their first date took place in Terre Haute, Indiana, at the local Cracker Barrel, a cozy spot that became the setting for a night full of laughter, stories, and checkers over dinner. They talked about their futures, their goals, and what they hoped God had in store for them. Little did they know that simple dinner would be the start of something extraordinary, a love built on faith, friendship, and the kind of foundation that even a civil engineer would be proud of :)
