In May of 2011, Thomas was in Scottsdale, Arizona for spring training, while Jenae was in Tucson still training for Team USA. Jenae's good friend and Arizona teammate, Taryne, was dating a player that happened to be on Thomas's minor league team. Taryne and her then boyfriend set Jenae and Thomas up on a blind date. They had their first date at Zipp's Sports Bar and Grill in Scottsdale, AZ. Jenae & Thomas obviously hit it off and dated for about a year. With both of them committed to still playing their sport, the timing of their relationship didn't work out. Through the years, Thomas & Jenae stayed in touch and were good friends. They both moved on with their careers and lives. As time went on, the timing now seemed right. They have two beautiful children, Jada (5) & Jacoby (3).
