Andrew and Jenae first met during their freshman year of high school, at ages 14 and 15, when they were assigned as partners during their French class. Andrew immediately caught Jenae's eye, but she was too nervous to tell him how she felt. It wasn't until three years later, in March of their senior year, that Andrew finally asked her out on their first real date. On March 11th, 2017 the two went on their first date, "Mormal" (no, neither of them are Mormon), and danced the night away with friends. The two have been together ever since—and will be getting married two days after their 9th anniversary. During their nine years together, the two did four years of long-distance for college, Andrew at CU Boulder in Colorado and Jenae at UC Santa Barbara. The two kept their romance alive by hosting dozens of facetime sushi nights and countless Netflix binge-watch sessions across 1000 miles, while cherishing school breaks and the chance to see each other only that much more. The two finally had the chance to begin their lives together in May 2024 when they moved into a cute little apartment in Pasadena, CA, where they have been living as Jenae finishes medical school. They adopted their adorable and rambunctious kitten, Momo, a few months later, and have been loving their scrabble nights, walks around the Rose Bowl, and exploring Colorado street. Exactly one week after their wedding, on March 20th, 2026, Andrew and Jenae will find out where they will be spending the next five years of their lives. On Match Day, where medical students find out which residency programs they have been matched with, the pair will open a letter that will tell them the location where they will embark on their next exciting adventure—marriage!

Andrew proposed to Jenae on August 9th, 2024 at Lover's Cove on Catalina Island, California, on the second day of a whirlwind romantic weekend filled with beautiful sunshine, incredible food, and plenty of surprises. The day of the proposal, the two spent a luxurious morning lounging at the Descanso Beach Club, sipping on mimosas and enjoying the salty ocean breeze. The weather was beautiful, and they both had a feeling it was going to be the perfect day. Later that afternoon, Andrew had booked them a golf cart so they could drive around to some of the famous lookout spots throughout Avalon and in the hills nearby. The two got ready—in case there was a good photo op, as Andrew had phrased it—and set out for the ride of their lives. When they got to Lover's Cove, the two sat down at a bench overlooking the harbor. They took in the incredible view—the rows of boats bobbing in crystal blue water, the scattered seagulls perched on the rocky shoreline—and Andrew started to read a letter he had written to Jenae. When he finally asked the question, "Will you marry me?", Jenae already had the answer on her lips. "Yes." The special moment had been captured by Andrew's brother, Matthew, who had taken the Ferry in the evening prior and had been dodging the couple all day (with a couple of close calls that Jenae had no idea about). They spent the next few hours riding around the island, taking photos, and soaking in the start of their forever. But the surprise wasn't over yet. Little did Jenae know, but Andrew had also arranged for her sister, Jordyn, to come to town for the weekend and celebrate the occasion. They spent the rest of the magical weekend together, exploring the beach during the day and frequenting the karaoke bars at night. The perfect weekend.
