The cutest coffee shop we’ve ever been to! This historic home was renovated into an adorable bistro by a local councilman who wanted to create a community around coffee. He now has opened 6 different locations in the Dallas area and donates over $1 million annually to support those in need. Start your morning with a trip here for a Maple Glazed Chicken Biscuit and a Snickerdoodle Latte!
Tacos 4 Life is such a great place! Not only do they have some super tasty and unique tacos, they actually donate one meal for every meal sold in the restaurant. Jena's favorite is the Spicy Chorizo taco, while Andrew loves the Chicken Bacon Ranch taco! You should definitely also splurge and order the chips and queso because it's delicious!
After moving to a small town in Texas from the Craft Beer Capital of America, San Diego, we had the lowest of low expectations when going to our first brewery in town. We were so pleasantly surprised when we got a taste of their Caboose Hop IPA, we could have sworn we were back in California. The brewery itself has tons of character, a very welcome, laid-back atmosphere, and even has live music every weekend. For all you beer lovers, make some time to go check it out!
This nostalgic soda fountain shop is so adorable! Come here for an old-fashioned hand-mixed soda, a light lunch, and some delicious ice cream. While in Downtown Waxahachie, check out some of the local shops such as The Doves Nest, Kimmy's Boutique, or Jordan E’s Popcorn & Candy Co.! If you're looking for something to do Saturday morning, make sure and stop by the Waxahachie Farmer's Market.
Have you been craving a Chicken Fried Steak that's bigger than you're head? Or maybe you've been in the mood for a hearty 1 Pound Burger? If so, you should go to Rockett Cafe & Club. But in all seriousness, you can count on this restaurant to deliver some good ole' southern cookin'. If live music is your thing (and Covid isn't too bad by then), they also have live music on the weekends! It gets pretty busy Friday and Saturday nights, so maybe call ahead to reserve a table.
How lucky are we to live less than a mile from a great BBQ joint? Soulman's is such a great option to get your BBQ fix, without being crazy expensive. Jena's go-to meal is a Double Barrel Baked Potato with Brisket, while Andrew typically orders Ribs and a Hot Link on the side. Don't skip on the Banana Pudding!
