In the ten years we've lived here, most of our time has been spent eating. If you have some time to explore New Orleans, here are some of our favorite ways to do it.

1. Maïs Arepas ($$)

One of the bride's favorite places, a contemporary Colombian restaurant specializing in arepas. Gluten-free friendly! Reservations recommended.

2. Restaurant Rebirth ($$$)

857 Fulton Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Farm-to-table Cajun-Creole restaurant that we went to on our first anniversary! Garrett's favorite dish of all time is the oyster angel hair from here.

3. Stein's Market and Deli ($)

2207 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

New York-style deli with sandwiches, bagels, salads, and coffee. Our favorite is the Reuben!

4. Coquette ($$$)

2800 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

Coquette is one of our favorite places to take family for dinner. They offer contemporary southern cuisine and craft cocktails. Reservations recommended.

5. Baru Bistro & Tapas ($$)

3700 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

A small, cozy bistro with delicious Latin-Caribbean tapas.

6. Saffron ($$$)

4128 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

Saffron is an upscale Indian dinner restaurant featuring craft cocktails and several vegetarian options. We love their Chicken Biriyani. Reservations recommended.

Our favorite place to get small-batch ice cream. Try the groom's favorite: Salty smokey chocolate almond.

8. Le's Baguette Banh Mi Cafe ($)

New Orleans is known for its incredible Vietnamese food. Le Baguette's is a casual Vietnamese cafe that is one of the bride's favorite places to get pho, vermicelli, or a bahn mi sandwich. Good gluten-free and vegetarian options!

9. Cafe Sbisa ($$)

1011 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

The place for a truly New Orleans-style nice dinner. Think shrimp remoulade, bananas foster, the whole nine yards.

10. Budsi’s Authentic Thai ($)

1760 North Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

The bride's favorite: a casual Thai restaurant with a great atmosphere in the hip Marigny neighborhood. We love the pad see ew, which can be made vegan.

11. The Elysian Bar ($$$)

2317 Burgundy Street, New Orleans, LA 70117

One of our absolute favorite restaurants in New Orleans. If it were up to us, we would have gotten married at their bar! Reservations recommended.

12. Frenchmen Street

Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA

If you're looking for a great place to hear music right outside of the French Quarter, walk along Frenchman Street and take your pick!

13. Paladar 511 ($$$)

Delicious Italian spot in the Marigny neighborhood. Has our absolute favorite weekend brunch & great vegetarian options!

14. Sneaky Pickle & Bar Brine ($$)

3200 Burgundy Street, New Orleans, LA 70117

An upscale bar and restaurant with some of the best vegan food in the city! Open for lunch and dinner. If you're there for lunch, get the vegan mac and cheese.

15. Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits ($$)

600 Poland Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117

An outdoor wine bar with live music and delicious cheese plates. Great place to spend a relaxed afternoon or evening!

16. Marjie's Grill ($$)

320 South Broad Street, New Orleans, LA 70119

The groom's favorite place to have dinner. A laidback restaurant serving Southeast Asian bar food with a Gulf twist. Reservations recommended.

17. Bayou St. John

New Orleans, LA 70119

A beautiful place to take a walk along the bayou, especially at sunset.

18. Parkway Bakery & Tavern ($)

538 Hagan Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119

Excellent spot for poboys. Grab one and eat it sitting at the bayou!

19. Zasu ($$$)

127 North Carrollton Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119

Zasu is a lovely and cozy dinner spot in the Carrolton area. It serves local food with Czech influence. Reservations recommended.

20. The Station Coffee Shop & Bakery ($)

The groom is picky about his coffee and biscuits. The bride is obsessed with the tofu sandwich. This is our fave spot in the whole city to get a coffee and breakfast.

21. Rosedale Restaurant ($$)

801 Rosedale Drive, New Orleans, LA 70124

Award-winning laidback restaurant tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Great for lunch and dinner. Her favorite: fried cauliflower. His favorite: the meatloaf sandwich.

22. Cafe Du Monde - City Park ($)

56 Dreyfous Drive, New Orleans, LA 70124

Take a walk around beautiful City Park and stop here for beignets and coffee. Open late night.

23. Tartine ($)

7217 Perrier Street, New Orleans, LA 70118

Small French cafe with great breakfast and brunch options. The ham and brie tartine is something we make sure to get every time.
